Wedding Invitation Wording

Sometimes it’s hard to get your head around your wedding invitation wording. There are lots of options. Some are formal. Some are informal. Some scrap all “rules” and have fun with personal wording and text. So, we’ve put together some ideas for possible wedding invitation wording for your stationery.

Day Invitation Wording

Here are some templates for your day invitation wording. Some couples opt out of having a space to write in a guest name on the invitation. If you choose this option, make sure you write the name of whoever you are inviting clearly on the postal envelope. So, if you are inviting a couple, write the names of both persons on the envelope.

You can also add something extra at the bottom of your invitation that adds a little quirky edge, such as “Can’t wait to see you there!” or “Bring your dancing shoes”. This adds a little bit of fun to your invitation.

Evening Invitation Wording

Here are some templates for your evening invitation wording. Generally, evening invitations tend not to include formalities like having the invitation from the parents of the bride/groom.

Make sure to think about the time you put on your evening invitation. You need to leave enough time to ensure that the dinner and speeches are well over before any evening guests start to arrive. Keep in mind also that an extra sentence or phrase such as “We’d love if you could make it” is a nice touch for evening invitation wording, so your guests feel as welcome as possible!
